An Eyewitness Account of a Traffic Accident My name is Li Ming. I am a college student in Peking University. At noon, around 1 p.m., May 30th 2003, I was walking through the pedestrian overpass near my university when I was shocked by the screech of a car. I saw that a man was knocked down by a red car passing by. Soon many cars were jammed there. I got there and found in the middle of the street, beside a red Benz, lay a man in a pool of blood. At the same time I saw a lady stood near the victim, trembling. After a moment, the police and the ambulance arrived. The victim was instantly sent to the hospital while the lady was taken away by the police. The above is all I saw about the accident. I is ,u opinion that the pedestrian should have taken the overpass when he crossed the street, especially during rush hours. Besides, the driver might have driven too fast.
