M etho Chem ical analysis and instrum ental analysis were used to carry out laboratory observation. Results The available chlorine content in sodium hypochlorite disinfectant solution ranged from 36. 4 to 115. 8 g /L accord ing to d ifferent products and d ifferent tmi e after leaving the factory. The free base content showed phenom enon of exceed ing allow able lmi it and iron, lead and arsen ic contentsw ere w ith in the range specified in national standard. The elig ible rate of available chlorine content in sodium hypochlorite stock solutionw as 92% , the rate of excee- d ing allow able lmi it of free base contentw as25% and metal ions did not exceed the allowable lmi it. There w as no obvious correlation betw een available chlorine content and free base content in sod ium hypochlorite, but there was positive correla- tion betw een pH value and free base content in sodium hypochlorite solution. A fter the sodium hypochlorite d isinfection so- lu tionw as stored at room tem perature for 9 m onths, its available chlorine content decreased by 15. 5% ~ 48. 5%
