Clause 1 describes the scope and purpose of this standard. Clause 2 lists references that are useful in applying this standard. Clause 4 defines the general operating requirements for CBTC systems, including train operating modes to be supported. Clause 5 defines the performance requirements for CBTC systems, including headway criteria, system safety criteria, and system availability criteria.
