Methods Antibacterial use density of antibacterial drugs used for inpatients of our hospital from 2009 to 2012 were calculated and analyzed. Results From 2009 to 2012, the antibacterial use density were 71.78, 71.99, 65.76, and 44.41. The top 1 antibacterial drugs in terms of antibacterial use density were cephalosporins, most of which were second generation cephalosporins. Top grade antibacterial drugs, such as third generation cephalosporins, carbapenems and glycopeptides, were seldom used. Conclusion The use of antibacterial drugs in our hospital was basically rational, antibacterial use density was decreased obviously. However, further management should be taken to reduce the use of antibacterial drugs and to manage irrational use of some antibacterial drugs.
