ABSTRACT:This paper discusses the definition ofVirtualReality(VR)as following. A t first. Analyzing the exam-
ples ofV irtualReality Application System and related definitions that people presented in the past. And then the au-
thor presents three attributes ofVR:smi ulation, interaction and mi agination. At the same tmi e the author indicates:
theVR system is smi ulating and mi itating all things in essence;the VR system is transformed by an operator in the
system, which describes the relationship bewt een VR and human;a reasonable imaginative space is offered in VR
system, so as to operate the RV system availably. Finally the author presents a proposal thatVR is a huge aggregation
and it should be taken as a new subjec.t
