Abstract: There is a new kind of joint etw een steel truss and concrete-filled steel tu ular column in structures of Shanghai
Hongqiao Station for high-speed railway.The joint has complicated constructional details and structural ehavior.A
model test with a 1∶4 scale was carried out to investigate its loading capacity in this paper.The experimental method
of how to exert loads on the complicated joint is presented, and its ehavior, weak position and failure mode are
discussed.The test indicated the joint was designed effectively in constructional details and had oth sufficient loading
capacity, which came to three times design value, and good plastic deformation.However, the joint showed its
