The vague understanding of green building incremental cost and the short-sighted idea of cost control are key factors affecting the implementation and promotion of green building. Definitions of green building and its incremental cost are given. On this basis，the lifecycle incremental costs of green building are classified according to the different phases of a project. whats more，main points of the lifecycle incremental cost in different phases like the decision making and designing phase ，constructing phase，maintenance phase and recycling phase are proposed in the light of the main factors affecting it.
