英语综合实践活动课案例 活动主题 New Senior English for China Student’Book3 Unit5 Canada—Trip on “the True North” 活动背景 随着社会的进步与发展，教育越来越注重培养学生的综合实践能力。就语言的教学来讲，要注重培养学生把听，说，读，写这四种基本技能融合为一体，培养学生学以致用的能力，从而体现英语教学实践性的本色。 本节课要学习的是一篇游记，记述了李黛予和刘倩去加拿大看望表兄妹的旅途见闻。乘火车横穿加拿大之前，她们的朋友林丹尼向她们介绍了加拿大的概况, 包括面积、地貌、城市、人口、生态环境等。一路上,他们看到了加拿大的自然美景、野生动物, 并因中途停靠卡尔加里(Calgary)而联想到卡尔加里大赛马会(Calgary Stampede)。加拿大地广人稀, 多数人住在美加边境。本文还提到了桑德贝(Thunder Bay), 五大湖(the Great Lakes), 温哥华(Vancouver)和多伦多(Toronto), 并介绍了加拿大的淡水资源。本文对加拿大的介绍涉及面较宽, 但都没有详述, 这给学生留下了足够的思维空间。阅读部分在整个单元中起着举足轻重的作用，是点睛之笔。 活动目标及重难点 1、活动目标Teaching Aims 1）知识目标Aims of Basic Knowledge： A. Expressions（短语）: prime minister, rather than, settle down, manage to do, catch sight of, have a gift for. C. Some important sentence patterns（重要句式）: a. The thought that they could cross the whole continent was exciting. b. Some people have the idea that you can cross Canada in less than five days. c. They forget the fact that Canda is 5500 kilometers form coast to coast. d. The fact that ocean ships can go there surprises many people. 2）能力目标Aims of Abilities： A. Master the expressions for describing directions and locations. B. Develop students’ reading ability and let them learn different reading skills. C. Let students learn how to read a traveling report according to the traveling route and how to use a map. D. Enable students to learn about some basis information and talk about Canada. 3）情感目标Aims of Emotion： A. Stimulate students’ interest in learning about foreign countries. B. Develop students’ sense of cooperative learning 2、教学的重点和难点Teaching Important and Difficult Points 1）重点Teaching Focus ： A. Let students read the passage and learn about the geography, population, main cities, natural beauty and natural resources of Canada. B. Enable students to understand the details of the passage about Canada.
