Types of Sentences Warm-up: Diary Reading and Sharing September 21, 2005 Breezy and sunny Maturity When I prepared for my marriage, I was reluctant to accept those life necessities my Mom offered me because I thought the stuff she gave me was just something making shift. As for what kind of stuff I was going to buy remained unknown or vague for me. While anyhow or anyway, I was unsatisfied with the stuff I’d got and going to throw them away someday. So whenever I got something new, I didn’t care it too much because I thought I’d change it for the new. I was always in a careless state of mind: careless about all the things I owned then. Ironically, I turn to cherish everything I have now: the old furniture, the beautiful moon cake boxes, even the old bed sheets my Mom gave me…. Whenever I want to buy something, I consider its endurance for I might keep it forever. My transformation is so great that my thrifty husband has felt it and found it rather strange given that I used to be such a careless and luxurious wife in his eyes. Why such a change! Older! The immediate response in my mind startled me. However, how I enjoy the feeling of cherishing things! The dark polished tissue of my old furniture, the soft feel of cotton of my bed sheets, the fancy moon cake boxes that might be used someday, …I savor each of them, and grow a fonder and tender affection for them. Older, might be. But “mature” is a more appropriate word I’d like to describe my present state of mentality. My hasty and disturbing young heart is becoming a stable and pleasant mature mind.
