Once a runtime version of a project has been created, it can be easily deployed, managed, and modified as needed. A project is first configured and validated using Designer, at which point an Enterprise Archive resource (EAR) file is created for deployment. The EAR contains: - Adapter Archive (AAR - for adapter services and local variables) - Process Archive (PAR - for processes and local variables) - Shared Archive (SAR - for shared resources and global variables) An EAR file can be used for multiple deployments and domains, which means portability and easy reuse of previous work. Administrator is then used to upload and deploy services, as well as to update global and environment variables. - Deployment configuration is versioned and revertible. - Deployment history is kept - Finer granularity on product version and configuration matching * Administrator has been significantly enhanced to manage and monitor the various aspects of deployed projects. The intuitive UI allows users to select targets of interest and drill down on relevant attributes and status information. Advanced security features allows finer control of access and roles. BusinessWorks integrates seamlessly with Administrator for consistency and simplicity of operations. * * * * Following are some slides about which which interfaces are supported from the R/3 side. As already in Release 1.0, the 2.0 adapter supports R/3s IDoc interfaces. IDocs are used as data container for asynchronous communication between loosely coupled applications. IDocs can be sent via a file interface (this is not supported via the SAP adapter but directly via a plugin in Message Broker) or via transactional RFC. Transactional RFC guarantees exactly once delivery if and only if the transaction in SAP R/3 commits. It does not roll b
