To deal with thenatural grassland degeneration in theloess hilly area, the fertilizing ex periments have been done, which included the studies on variation trends of community, s biomass along with seasons and years under mowing and grazing conditions. It provid ed abase for selecting proper mowing periods and times, grazing intensity and times to , affect community s structure. The results showed that to the communities of St ip a bungeana and Thym us mongolicus in the loess hilly area, it would be better to be mowed twice (June 15 and August 10) with 4cm height of grass left and begrazed twice ayear (June 10 and August 10) with grazing intensity of 15 sheep within one ha, which could bebenefical to grasses reproduce and vegetation s normal succession., Key words: Fertilized grassland, Mowing, Use for grazing , , * : , , 41, , , 3 , , 1991~ 1994 1, 60 ,! ∀! ∀ , 5 : 1996- 05- 03 3
