状语从句全方位复习方略 状语从句一直是高考的重点，所以我们要全面把握并使之系统化，横向联系，达到触类旁通的目的。状语从句在句中起副词的作用，主要修饰谓语动词。可表示时间、地点、原因、目的、结果、条件、方式、让步和比较。现在就重难点讲解如下，并结合高考题进行实战演练。 一、时间状语从句： 引导词有：when, while, as, as soon as, the moment, the instant, immediately, directly, instantly, before, after, since, once, until, till, the minute/day/year/week, next time, the first time, the last time, every time, each time, by the time, hardly/ scarcely…when…, no sooner…than…等。 重点难点1：when, while的异同。 相同点：when, while 都可表示较长的“背景”情况，即表示一段时间，从句谓语用延续性动词，如be, lie, stay, wait, read, study, work, write等。例如： She can only write when/while the baby is asleep.她只能趁婴儿睡觉的时候写作。 My wife kept silent when/while I was writing.在我写作的时候我妻子保持安静。 不同点1：时间状语从句表示时间点，谓语使用瞬间动词 arrive, begin, borrow, go, come, leave, stop, finish, die, join, buy 等时，只能用when引导。例如： It was snowing when we got to the airport. 当我们到达机场时正在下雪。 I was writing a letter when she came in. 当她进来时我正在写信。 不同点2：做“这时突然”“正在这时”讲时，只能用when ,常与过去进行时、过去完成时和was/were about to do…, was/ were on the point of doing…连用。表示转折对比做“然而”讲时，只能用while。例如： I was thinking of this when I heard my name called.我正思考这件事，突然听到有人叫我的名字。 We were about to start when it began to rain.我们正准备动身突然下起雨来了。 He was on the point of leaving when someone knocked at the door. 他正准备出发突然有人来敲门。 He had gone through six carriages when he found he could go no further.他走过了六节车厢，突然发现他再也不能往前走了。 Jane was dressed in brown while Mary was dressed in blue.简穿着褐色衣服而玛丽穿着蓝色衣服。 高考例题： 2008四川 In some places women are expected to earn money ____ men work at home and raise their children.
