Discuss practicality of some of the steps. Knowing that procedures and training are “human” dependent --therefore, most likely to break down. * * Should the topic come up: Attendance management: having people come back to work ASAP. Proven fact that people heal faster when they feel productive, higher morale, self-esteem…. Where we have light duty status available, we ask people to come back. We don’t violate a Doctor’s orders, but we do help doctors know that we have other value-added work (restricted work or light duty work). We let person know they are missed, they are important, …..it is an overall policy of attendance that we have. * * * * Use self assessment and action planning while others are on audits. There is no sharing on this portion. Self-assessment is very important tool. Careful of trap--personal focus is the intent, not what manager is requiring organization to do. PERSONAL is the learning.
