AbstractThe Abstract The modern times of China is a particular period in which eastern culture collides with western culture，and new social pattern replaces the old one．During this period，the Painting of the literati which holds the mainstream of Chinese art profession in long time is affected by the outside force continually．It developed a series of change on the picture style，taste and the value，and then finished the transformation from the traditional pattern to the modern pattern．This thesis is discussing from different angles on the reason and the showing of the transformation in modern the Painting of the literati．： Firstly,from the transformation of calligraphy that influences the the Painting of the literati picture conclusively,this thesis explains that the taste of intellectual water the Painting of the literati from“paster science’’to“stone inscription science’’after ■J．．‘ “the glory of Daoguang and Xianfeng”leads to the transformation of the taste and the picture style in the the Painting of the literati so that the calligraphy was enriched and developed because of that． Secondl5 this thesis discusses on the“changing rule-system on the base of classical work’’route that is taken by the traditional culture artist in the modern times when they change the the Painting of the literati in order to show the importance of insisting on the national natural spirit． Thirdly,this thesis explains many influence of the Painting of the literati under the culture environment of moder“eastern country learning the western culture”，puts emphasis on the basic difference between the western modern art and the the Painting of the literati in order to criticize the false idea about‘‘art has no national boundary’’ in long time． Fourthly,this thesis analyzes the negative effect from“the culture crisis’’rises in modern times．On one side，its to criticize the reality,and on the other side，to appeal national traditional culture．From this，it is possible for the Painting of the lite
