They are one of representatives of social memories and also are important components of the national information resources. It is a meaningful thing not only to citizens but also to the country if we attach importance to the management of family archives and try to improve it constantly. As records of daily life, family archives can make life more convenient and it also does help to protect their interests of the whole family. In addition, as a supplement of the national information resources, family archives especially those with significant values for society can be reliable references of scientific research. At last, family archives can do favor to promoting the construction of harmonious society and improving citizens ’consciousness of Archiving. New types of digital archives appeared successively in the digitalization age, such as digital images, audio, video, micro-blog, electronic instruments etc. Compared with traditional family archives which mainly consist of paper files, digital archives make higher demands on both management and technology. Now several cities of China took the lead on the exploration of family archives and already got some achievements. Shenyang, as a typical representative among others, it has many remarkable experiences and it also needs continuous improvement.
