恐惧症的起源课件
13 One of the most widespread superstitions in western countries is that thirteen is unlucky, and so general is this idea that many hotels do not have a room number thirteen. Some people will not start a trip on the 13th day of the month, especially if it happens to be a Friday. Various explanations have been given as to the origin of this superstition. Some Christian traditions have it that at the Last Supper, Judas, the disciple(信徒) who betrayed Jesus, was the 13th to sit at the table. Jesus had performed many miracles and gathered around him twelve disciples and many believers, but the chief Jewish priests and teachers of the law began to conspire(密谋)ways to get rid of Jesus, because they were afraid of the people. Then Judas went to them and promised to bring Jesus to them. Then came the day of Unleavened Bread(除酵节,即逾越节) and Jesus seated himself with his disciples to eat the Passover(逾越节祭神的羔羊). He took the cup and gave thanks to God and said, Take this and divide it among you. For I tell you I will not drink wine again until the kingdom of God comes. And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it and gave it to them, saying, This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me. And during this last supper, he pointed out that the man who would betray him was among them. While eating, Jesus said that one of those eating with him would betray him, would turn against him and help his enemies. His disciples asked, “Who?” To answer this, but mainly to show love and special favor to Judas, Jesus gave him a sop[1], a piece of bread that had been dipped into a dish. The disciples began to wonder who was to do this. Jesus had already known that Judas would betray him. He also warned the others of the Temptation of Satan(撒旦的诱惑). Peter said, “Lord, I am ready to go with you to prison and to death.” Jesus answered, “I tell you, Peter. Before the rooster crows(鸡鸣)today, you will deny three times that you know me.
