Focal points and difficult points: some new words and expressions the prepositional phrases and the imperative sentences the sentence patterns of asking the way and giving directions Teaching objectives: By the end of the class, students should be able to: remember some new words and expressions; use the imperative sentences to communicate; master the sentence patterns of asking ways and giving directions; ask the way and give directions properly in English. Teaching procedures: Step1. Review Teacher asks questions and the class answer. T: What’s on the desk/on the wall/…？ S: There is/are …. T: Is/Are there …? S: Yes, …./No, …. Then teacher chooses some students to answer those questions. Teacher says some sentences in Chinese and let students repeat the meaning in English. Teacher chooses 2~3 students to make up dialogues with them. They will follow the following patterns. T: Are you in front of ?on the left of ?on one ’s right? S: Yes, ?/No, ? Learn the new words stuStudents follow teacher to read the new words, and then students read them together, twice a word. Listening and speaking Teacher shows the map and plays the tape recorder once and read them again. Students are required to find the name of the places on the map. St
