Page 1/138 2.3 Existing Cavern Wells UGS-1 and UGS-2 Two wells UGS-1 and UGS-2 have already been drilled in the period from June to October 2001. 2.3.1 UGS-2 (First Well) This well was drilled from 29.06.2001 – 01.08.2001 to a total depth of 1.500 m with a deviation of 23,97 m to Azimuth 218,78° at TD. The first section was drilled with a 26” bit to a depth of 657,0 m. The spud mud (Ligno-sulfonate) had an average density of 72 lbs/cuft and mud losses were encountered down to a depth of 86,0 m. The 20” Casing (106,5 lbs/ft and 133,0 lbs/ft; J-55; BTC) was set and cemented as planned at a depth of 655,0 m (Anhydrite). The cementation was executed with Konya Class A cement to the surface (density of lead cement was 98 lbs/cuft and density of tail cement was 112 lbs/cuft). The second section was drilled with a 8 ?” bit and cored with 8 15/32” x 6 ?” x 4” core barrel to a depth of 1.500 m (total depth). Altogether 13 cores with a length of 9 m each have been taken (100% core recovery). The mud was changed in saturated salt polymer mud with an average density of 78 lbs/cuft.
