ABSTRACTSixkindsofAl,Al-Zn,Al-Zn-In,Al-Zn-In-Sn,Al-Zn-In-Sn-Mgand Al-Zn-In-Sn-Mg-REanodematerialshadbeenmelted.Theelectrochemicalperformances andthevolumesofhydrogenofsixanodeshadbeentestedinthe3%NaClsolution.The micro-structures of these six anodes and the compositions of segregations had beeninvestigatedbytheopticalmicroscope(OM)，scanningelectronmicroscope(SEM)andenergydispersiveX-Rayfluoresencespectrometer(EDX).Theelectrochemicalbehaviours ofAlalloyanodewereinvestigatedin3%sodiumchloridesolutiondynamicpotential scanningandACimpedancemeasurements.Theexperimentsfocusedontheinfluenceof addedelementonthemicro-structuresandmacro-electrochemicalperformancesofalloys and the effect of segregations in the aluminum anodes activation process.The resultsshowedthatthealloy appearedZn-richphasesegregationatgrainboundary afteraddingelementZn,andhadhighertendencyofintergranularcorrosionandlower currentefficiency.TraceelementInreducedthegrainsizebutdendriticsegregation appearedinthealloywhichcausedthenumberofsecondphaseincreasedsignificantly.The resultsalsoshowthatInprecipitatedwithsedimentwhichcontainedotherelementsinthe formofInatoms.ThenumberofsecondphasesoaredwiththeelementSnaddedandthe dendritesegregationintensified.ElementMgexistedinα-Almatrixmainlyintheformof solidsolutionandtherestintheformofintermetalliccompoundssuchasAl2Mg3Zn3and MgZn3whichprecipitatedinthegrains.Ifwe didnotadopteffectivemeasureswhenmelted aluminum-magnesiumalloy,itaggravatedthereactionofaluminumandwatervaporwhich oftenaccompaniedwith microdefects suchas porosityandcracking.Added RE also reducedthegrainsizeanditshowedthatREprecipitatedatthegrainboundariesinthe form of intermetallic compounds such asLaAl4, CeAl4.Thegreaterthegrainaluminumalloyanode,thelowerthecurrentefficiency,itmainlyduetocrystalgrainseparation.Themorenumberofthesecondphaseofaluminumalloyanode,thelowerthecurrentefficiency,itmainlyduetosecondphaseseparation.The secondphasedistributionswillalsocausethelossofefficiency.Uniformlydistributed
