ABSTRACTCurrently，pt / C is still the main cathode catalyst of various low tempera阳re fuel cells. But pt is precious and scarce metaI，50 it is expensive. For the direct methanoIfuel celI， pt can aIso catalytic methanol oxidation which will produce mixed potentiaIe的ct， and it i5 susceptible ωCO poisoning. Therefore，the development of new ORR catalysts to replace pt / C is a key issue to make fuel cells into large.scale commercial application.In this pape民 we choose cobalt nitrate and nickel 5ulfate as transition metal precursors ，pyrrole as N source，Vulcan XC.72 as the carrier，and use impregnation method ωprepare Co.PPy / C and Co-Ni-Pη/ C catalysts for the first time. Characterizations of surface mo巾hology，phase and surf肌e composition of catalysts are through scanning electron microscopy ，X.ray powder diffraction and X刊yphotoelectron spectroscopy. Electrochemical workstation and rotating disk electrode are used for cyclic voltammetry and RDE voltamme町 to s阳dy the ca阳Iytic prope叫es and catalytic mechanism. We have also system创icly analyzed therelationship between Co content， PPy ωntent，heat treatment and Co.PPy / Ccatalysts performance ，as well as Co，Ni content and Co.Ni蜘PPy / C catalysts performance.The results show that，Co.PPy / C and Co-Ni-PPy / C catalysts both have goodoxygen reduction catal严ic activities，and the former is better than the I州时.刀le reωon is Co-PPy / C catalyst for ORR is mainly a four electronic process，andCo-Ni-PPy / C catalyst is mainly a two electronic process. Transition metal and Nsource are guaranteed with better ORR activity，and they have optimal loading values‘which are not the higher the better. Heat trea阳lent can change the catalytic activity bychanging N form.
