* Part Two Canada I. Geography 1. Size and location ---Canada is wilderness, forest or frozen Arctic wasteland. Nearly80% of Canadians live in large cities near the border with the United States. ---There are four main centers of population in Canada: 1). The Atlantic Coast; 2). The large manufacturing cities of southern Quebec and Ontario; 3). The plains area; 4). The Pacific coast British. 2. Topography ---Gulf of St.Lawrence and the Atlantic ---Lakes Superior and Huron ---Mackenzie Mountain ---the two principal river systems : the Mackenzie and the St. Lawrence 3. Climate 4. Geographical regions ---Canada is made up of ten provinces and two territories. From east to west they can be divided into six geographical regions: 1). Atlantic Provinces 2). St. Lawrence-Great Lakes provinces 3). The Canadian Shield 4). The Prairie Provinces 5). The province of British Columbia 6). The bare region of northern Canada 5.
