一、may和might 都可表示允许。如： You may/ might use my dictionary so long as you return it before 17:00. 表示可能，might比may语气更不确定，表示的可能性更小。如： Do you think Mr. Jackson may/ might be here on time? 二、can和could 都可表示能力。如： Even a small personal computer can store great amounts of information.
