apg40 pac test procedure 1. DATE TIME CHECK 1.1 Verify the date and time is correct. CLUSTER RESOURCE C:\cluster res Verify all cluster resources are online ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3. FAILOVER TEST 3.1 Verify the current node you are connecting is the active node C:\prcstate C:\hostname 3.2 Reboot the node C:\prcboot Optional method: Start pcAnywhere, connect to active node, click “Start” on Windows NT desktop, choose “Shut Down” to reboot the node 3.3 Logon to passive node, verify the old standby node become active C:\prcstate C:\hostname 3.4 Wait until both nodes are up and running again (approximately 10 minutes) before proceeding C:\cluster res ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- DAT TAPE TEST 4.1 Get a dump from APG40 4.1.1 Start pcAnywhere, connect to active node. 4.1.2 Open the DOS command window, verify you are currently connecting to the active node C:\prcstate 4.1.3 Insert the DAT tape into active node 4.1.4 Enter the command to bring up Backup utility and start the transfer of the reload file to the DAT tape C:\ntbackup backup L:\FMS\data\CPF\RELVOLUMSW\RELFSWxx /a /v /d “description” /hc:on /t normal /tape:0 Note: The backup window will automatically close once the file has transferred Transfer dump to APG40 4.2.1 Start pcAnywhere, connect to active node 4.2.2 Open the DOS command window, verify you are currently connecting to the active node C:\prcstate 4.2.3 Insert the DAT tape into active node C:\ntbackup 4.2.4 Enter the command to bring up Backup utility 4.2.5 Bring up the Tapes Window 4.2.6 Highlight and check the box for the backup you wish to copy to the node 4.2.7 Press “Restore” button, once
