Revision Revision Lesson planning can be divided into two levels: macro planning and micro planning The former is planning over time. It can be a general plan. The latter is planning for a specific lesson, that is, it is specific, concrete teaching plan. Macro planning requires us to know about: 1)The course 2) the institution 3) the learners 4) the syllabus Macro planning provides general guidance for language teachers. Micro planning, that is, a concrete teaching plan usually has some components: teaching aims, language contents and skills, and teaching stages and procedures. Revision The objective/aim of a lesson includes language points to present, communicative skills to practice, activities to conduct, and materials and teaching aids to be used. Teaching stages are the major steps that language teachers go through in the classroom. Procedures are the detailed steps in each teaching stage. The most popular language teaching stages are the 3P’s model: presentation, practice and production. In the skill-oriented lessons, that is, in a reading or listening lesson, a 3-stage model is frequently adopted: pre-reading/listening, while-- and post--. But 5-step model is more familiar to the middle school teachers: revision, presentation, drill, practice and consolidation. Unit 4 Classroom Management What is “classroom management”? Classroom management is such skills that we apply when we teach. It is one of the most important factors, which have effects on whether we teach efficiently and effectively. The aim of it is to create an atmosphere that will help interact in English in meaningful ways. Classroom management is the way teachers organize what goes on in the classroom. Classroom Management How can we manage a classroom efficiently? Only when three conditions are met: The teacher plays appropriate roles.
