数（主语和谓语）的一致 1.并列主语与动词的一致 并列主语于动词的一致有几种情况。 1)当“名词＋and+名词”的结构表示一种事物或一种概念时（此时and后面的名词前没有冠词），应用单数动词；否则谓语动词要用复数形式。如： Fish and chips is a popular supper. The poet and writer has come. Peter, and perhaps John, plays football. The eighth and the last chapter are written by Peter. 有时并列主语用单数或附属动词均可。如： Time and tide wait(s) for no man. 2)当“each /every/no + 单形名词＋and + each /every/no+ 单形名词”结构作主语时，应用单数动词。如： Each book and each paper is found in its placed. Every hour and every minute is important. 3)在“名词（代词）＋or＋名词（代词）”结构后的动词一般应与or后的名词（代词）一致。如： He or I am in the wrong. He or his brothers were to blame. 4)“either＋名词＋or＋名词”结构要求动词一般应与or 后的名词一致。如： Either the shirts or the sweater is a good buy. Either Tim or his brothers have to shovel the snow. 5)“not only＋名词＋but(also)＋名词”结构要求动词一般应与but(also)后的名词一致。如： Not only the students but also their teacher is enjoying the film. 6)“neither＋名词＋ nor＋名词”结构要求动词一般应与nor后面的名词一致。如： Neither you nor your brother is in fault. Neither he nor they are mistaken. 2.“单形名词＋with或as well as 等＋名词”结构于动词的一致 1）单数名词＋with＋名词”结构要求动词一般应与第一个名词一致，即用单数名词。如： A teacher, with his students, is seeing an English film. A woman with two children has come. 2)“名词＋as well as＋名词”结构要求动词一般应与第一个名词一致。 as much as, rather than, more than, no less than, together with, along with, except, but, besides, like, in addition to, combined with, accompanied by, including等引导的词组时同样用以上结构。 如： The students as well as the teacher were present at the meeting. I as well as they am ready to help you. Dr. Richard, together with his wife and three children, is to arrive in Beijing this afternoon. 3)“名词＋added to＋名词”结构要求一般应与第一个名词一致。如： The painting of M is constructed by leaning one half an M against a mirror.
