Manufacturers producing high-strength bolts, nuts, and washers for friction- grip joints to this specificationmay, under a permit issued by the Council of the South African Bureau of Standards, apply the standardizationmark as illustrated above to the commodity as evidence to the consumer that the commodity is being made in accordance with the specification and that compliance with its requirements is ensured by tests and inspections carried out by the South African Bureau of Standards. The application of the standardizationmark to the commodity also signifies that the manufacturer has instituted effective quality management systems governing the production of the commodity. NOTE:
