Abstract: T he rigidizable materials and rigidization technology are the key technologies of space inflat
able structures Rigidizable materials can be classified into several categories base on their base mate
rials properties T here are thermosetting composites, thermoplastic ( and lightly crosslinked thermo
setting) composite materials, and aluminum/ polymer laminates T his paper reported the typical ri
gidization technology of these rigidizable materials T he characteristics and current situation of each
rigidization system were introduced respectively And the major benefits and limitations of these ri
gidization technologies were also discussed
