We propose simple physical mo del for the servo press machine and formul ate its elastic deformation. Moreover, we discuss way to reduce the displacement of die structure by use of the mechanism controlling die cushion. Index Terms—Metal processing, Servo press, Elastic deformation, Die cushion. I. INTRODUCTION Sheet metal processing has many advantages for mass production and manufacturing complex shape. In this field the most common operations are performed in a press. Therefore these operations are usually referred to as press working, such as deep drawing in shape forming or fine blanking in cutting. In deep drawing, a punch attached on the bolster and a die attached under the slide of a press are considered to be rigid bodies, so elastic deformations in those systems have been neglected.
