They are now re- printed with the permission of Brown University and of Dr. Stefan Hurewicz. An appreciation of Witold Hurewicz by Professor Solomon Lefschetz, which first appeared in the Bulletin of the American Mathematical Society, is included-m this book, together with a bibliography of his published works.
