However , the r ole of shear str ess in pr otein C pathw ay r e- mains unknow n. n the present study , we evaluated the effect of shear str ess on the activ ation of pr otein C as w ell as on the ex pression of endo thelial protein C r eceptor ( EPCR) and thro mbo modulin ( T M) in human umbilical vein en- dothelial cells ( H U V ECs) which wer e exposed t o T N F-A alo ne, shear stress alo ne, and T N F-A under shear stress.
