Obstetrics and G necolog Hospital, Medical Center of Fudan Universit , Shanghai 200011, China) Abstract: Based on Fractional Brown Motion theor , the B-mode ultrasound image from the placenta during gesta- tional period is anal zed, and two fractal parameters are obtained. Then together with the grading results judged b medical experts, the rules of automat ic classificat ion are established b appl ing the quantification theor . The appli- cation results of 106 ultrasound images of placenta show that the fractal feature extracted from the B-mode ultra- sound image is a valuable parameter for t he placent al function, and it is feasible in clinic to evaluate automat icall the placental function using the proposed method.
