Quite and IBM Zurich lab launched the atomic force microscope (Atomic Force Microscopy, referred to as AFM), which is a kind of scanning probe microscope without conductive specimen. This microscope through its probe only one atom at a very close distance on the surface of object, we can identify the surface details of other small scales on the microscope to distinguish and feature. As it turns out, direct observation of the microscopic world of the door was opened. This microscope can be used to high resolution detection of atomic and molecular shape, determine the electrical and magnetic and mechanical properties of the object, even can determine the temperature changes. No need to change samples by this microscope, effects of high-energy radiation without damaging the sample by. Key words: atomic force microscope; scanning probe microscopic world; radiation; Sent state about the research of solidification process Abstract:Solidification is an important physical process and plays an important role in lives and industries. In this paper, the present state and progress on the research of solidification process have been analyzed according to several different research directions. In addition, the article also points out the drawbacks and merits during the development of solidification process and introduces the probable development trend about it. At last, some advice on modifying and improving about the traditional materials and exploring about novel materials has been proposed in this article.
