Methods: the water extract of Codonopsis pilosula was added into mouse J 774 macrophage culture medium for micro cell culture, and the activity of phagocytosis was directly detected by automatic micro fluorescence analyzer. Result: the results showed that the water extract of Codonopsis liquid on the phagocytic activity of macrophages has been enhanced, at the concentration of 500 ~ 3000 g/ml, and the drug control group (O) comparison has significant difference (P 0.05), enhanced 1.33 ~ 1.70 times respectively. Conclusion: macrophage is one of the important immune cells, each part of the bodys immune response plays a key role, can enhance the immune effect of Dangshen, may be achieved through the enhancement of macrophage immune activity.
