Department of Cardiac Surger , Guangdong Provincial Cardiovascular I nstitute, Guangz hou 510100. = Abstract Obj ective T o compare classical and acquired Lutembachercs s ndrome ( mitral restenosis after percutaneous ballon mitral valvuloplast ) in attempt to know their different in pathoph siolog , diagnosis, and sur- gical treatment. Methods The data from 22 cases of classical and acquired Lutembachercs s ndrome who un- derwent surgical treatment in the same period were anal zed. Results No death occurred in the classical group. In the acquired group the mortalit however was 4218% for those highl complicated with pulmonar h pertension and right heart failure. Conclusions Classical Lutembachercs s ndrome can be corrected satisfactoril .
