The main process system and upstream downstream process system of full containment LNG storage tank are analyzed, based on which the functional requirements of the tank’s each system and equipment are specified. According to the function of each system, tank internal structure, the standards’ requirements, meanwhile, considering the main process piping layout and construction technology of LNG storage tank, the equipment Layout and platform design on top of tank are completed. Finally, Find out the design method for the general layout of the LNG storage tank, the general layout of the first domestic-type 30000 m2 LNG storage tank is completed, and is approved by Japanese IHI company who review the design and DNV(DET NORSKE VERITAS) who finish quantitative risk analysis，and is successfully applied in TianJin floating LNG project.
