The corrosion behavior of hot dipping Galvanized (GI), Galfan (GF)and Galval me (GL)coated steels
Abstract:
exposed to immersion zone of Qingdao site w as investigated with seawater corrosion test, microscopy morphology
analyses and electrochemical meas rements. The inferior performance of GI mainly res lts from its largest corrosion
c rrent density and not forming a stable and protective corrosion prod ct layer in the flow ing seawater . The s perior
performance of GF and GL is attrib ted to their optimal combination of low er corrosion c rrent densities and more
protective corrosion prod cts. The minim m coating thicknesses req irement for one year protection afforded to
steel str c
