Xuanwu Hospital Capital Medical University, Beijing 100053, China) Abstract Objective: To investigate the situation of pharmacy knowledge and demand of pharmacy service for the community residents and to explore ways to carry out community pharmacy service. Methods: A total of 806 residents who either visited Wanshoulu community health service center or lived in Wanshoulu area were selected and a questionnaire survey was conducted. Results: 66.2% of the residents of the area have covered the basic medical insurance and work-related injury insurance. 86.43% get commonly used drugs from hospitals. 64.33% prefer tertiary hospitals for medical treatment. 56.10% have some knowledge of adverse drug reactions. 52.13% believe that community pharmacy service is very important.
