Abstract. Predetermination and generation are widely used in the teaching process of the course of Social Work Introduction. This research aims at analyzing the students’ adaption situation to the predetermination and generation teaching pattern. By analyzing the data collected from 50 students who attended the course of Social Work using questionnaires, we have got the result that students suffered from the contradictions of generated study expectation and predetermined study environment; the imbalance between predetermined and generated study targets; and the problems of identity recognition.
