Guangdong By-Health Biotechnology Co., Ltd, Guangzhou, Guangdong 510620, China) Abstract: ObjectiveTo investigate the in v itro antioxidative effect and determ ine the content of polysaccharide from Xin- huiTangerine peel.MethodsThe content ofXinhuiTangerine peel polysaccharideswas detected by phenol-sulfuric acid colormi etry. Its in vitro antioxidative effectswere determ ined by Fenton, DPPH, and FR P, so as to evaluate the antioxi- dative effect of polysaccharide from XinhuiTangerine peel by spectrophotometer, w ith ascorbic acid as the positive con- tro.l Results Polysaccharides from X inhuiTangerine peelcould significantly inhibit hydroxyl radical, DPPH free radicals, 3+ and deoxidize the Fe . The in v itro antioxidative effect of the fluid of polysaccharideswas increased w ith its concentra- tion. The content ofXinhuiTangerine peel polysaccharideswas 7. 20% . onclusion Polysaccharides ofXinhuiTangerine peelhave significant in v itro antioxidative effect.
