Unit 3 At the Hotel
Teaching Objectives
To develop the students’ listening skill.
To train the students’ ability to grasp the knowledge about how to make a reservation, check in and check out, etc. at the hotel.
To give the students more chances to talk about something in relation to what they have heard on the tape.
To develop the students speaking skill.
The important and difficult points
To familiarize the students with how to use the language they learn to practice the activities in relation to making a reservation and checking in as well as checking out, etc. at the hotel.
Teaching Time

Lead-in
1) Ask the students to discuss the following question: How do they book a room if they go out of their home for a trip?
2)Choose two or three students to tell the class their argumentation and list the key words and sentences.
3) Give the students some pictures or the real things in relation to the hotel to learn the new words and expressions in this unit.
The important words and the phrases:

3-1 Making a Reservation
This part is designed to make the students learn how to make a reservation and grasp the words and expressions about the rooms.
1. Pre-listening tasks
1)Ask the students to match the room types with the right pictures. (omitted)
2) Ask the students to read the choices in this exercises and make guesses about what questions are going to be asked before they listen to the dialogue.
2. While-listening tasks
1) Play the dialogue once and let the students get the main idea of the material. And then the teacher explains the difficult language points.
2) Play the dialogue twice and let the students do Task 2.
