The velo ity fields, pres- sure fields, temperature fields and the lo al onve tive heat transfer oeffi ients are ob tained and the enhan em ent of heat transfer and the pressure loss hara teristi s are om pared. The al u lated results show that the pressure loss of drop-shaped olumns is 66. 3% , 70. 5% and 79. 8% om pared w ith the former three w hile the average heat transfer oeffi ien t on the un iform heat flux endw all de reases 18. 5% , 12. 4% and 3. 8% , respe tively. The redu ed range of the pressure loss is evidently higher than the weaken ing of the enhan e heat transfer. So that thew ater drop-shaped olumn array is a prom ising on figuration w ith a omprehens ive properties and an repla e the norm al ir le-shaped olumn. ey words: enhan ed heat transfer, pressure loss, w ater drop-shaped o
