Methods Immunohistochem istr y m ethod w as u sed to stain the sub stance P( SP) in pulp al tissu e w hich could directly r ef lect the activatio n of nerve by stimuli. Results In the area o f o do nto blast and their pro tru sion s the SPimmunor eact ive ner ve f ibers w ere stained the g ra ysca les of the gr oup s w hich on day 1 3 5 after composite f illing w as sig nif icant ly higher th an co nt rol g roup ( P 0 . 05) and there w as no sig nif icant diff er ence betw een contro l gr oup and the ex per im ent al gr oup on day 12 after composite f illing( P 0 . 05) . Conclusion T he result s show th at the pain respo nse indu ced by deep cavity co mpo site f illing m ay last f o r sever al days w ith peak r espon se on day 1 to 3 and m ay alleviate as tim e p assby .
