Frankenstein’s book and movie 《Frankenstein》is a very famous novel written by English author Mary Shelley about an eccentric scientist Victor Frankenstein who creates a grotesque creature in an unorthodox scientific experiment and finally destroyed by his creature. As we all know, words and images are two different kinds of expression which have their only advantages and disadvantages, and cannot be totally same. The book 《Frankenstein》and movie 《Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein》have both similarities and differences. First of all, both the book and the movie are trying to tell the same story, so the main characters and key plots are similar. For example, both book and movie start with Captain Walton and his crews discover Victor while their ship is trapped in the ice of the Arctic Sea, and the whole story begin with Victor’s telling; in both book and movie the creature spends moths living in a family’s hovel without their knowledge, learning to read, speak and silently help them, but finally lead his revenge; and in both book and movie have the plot that the monster ask Victor for a companion and kill his wife Elizabeth on their wedding night on account of refusing his request. These key plots and characters are the marrow and essence of this story. If the movie deletes or changes these things, it is not this story any more. Second, as I said above, words and images are different ways of expression. Since movie has some l
