However , how to represent vari ous kinds of sp atial relations in a unified form is still an op en issue . In t his p ap er , an integrated approach is presented for representing lineline sp atial relations. In t his approach , sp atial relations are decomposed into t hree typ es , including topo logical , directional and distance , and topological relation act s as a most basic information chain to carry directional and dis tance constraint s for an integrated representation . At t he same time , these three relations are also described based upon the idea of decomposition and combination .
