Application for Herion New explosion proof Solenoids: EEx md IIC (Series .46xx) Flame proof at the terminal box with encapsulated coil chamber! A new family of solenoids with little difference in overall appearance has been developed for protection type EEx md IIC. It is a metal housing construction with electrical inlet equipped with an approved cable gland satisfying pressure proof encapsulation. The coil chamber, cast with resin, corresponds to protection type EEx m. With this design the coil valve interface re-mains the same regardless of whether the valve assembly is pilot or direct acting con-trolled. The new solenoid family eliminates the need for a costly interface with special design parameters. With this Norgren- Herion was successful, in contrast to earlier products, to make due without special valves with pressure proof housing This has logistic advantages for our customers. The permissible ambient temperature is sufficient from –40 to + 80o C.
