Comparative Study of Traditional Wedding Custom between Chinese and American Culture ABSTRACT Marriage is an important part of the cultural customs. The Chinese and American culture has their own characteristics. This article will make a research by comparing the Chinese and American marriage customs on its preparations for the wedding, the wedding ceremony, wedding dress and the American cultural values etc.. Through this study, people will gain the wide knowledge of the historical and cultural background of both ancient and modern, Chinese and American, thereby strengthening people’s learning on Chinese and American culture and history, to acquire the purpose of improving English level and broadening our horizons, to enhance the agreement of local traditional culture and to boost a sense of belonging.Finally, backing to the modern society to make the deeper thinking than ever.
