An Analysis of Cultural Differences in Chinese and Western Proverbs Abstract Proverbs, an expression way of language which is formed in a long process, are deeply influenced by religion, literature, ethics, and the other social ideology, so it is the mirror of culture. The language reflects the culture, and as well it is an important part of culture. With the economic globalizing, world integrating, it is better for western country and Chinese to communicate and cooperate through analysis and understanding the specialty of two cultures in the view of the carrie---proverbs. Meanwhile, “know the mutant; kill the mutant.” It also benefits for us to compete and cooperate. Therefore, it is very meaningful to correctly understand what the proverb reflects in the aspects of cultural difference of Chinese and western. So as a person in the modern society, we extremely need to have a better understanding of proverbs. In the environment of globalization, cultural communications are now more and more popular. Along with China becoming an industrial country, it attracts much more attention by people around the world, so the business contacts are more and more tight. And choosing this topic is definitely necessary in the integrated atmosphere.
