Activity-based English Teaching in Primary Schools 1. Introduction Most of my students are very interested in English learning. But on the other hand they are passive learning and did not know how to use English during learning. As you know, if students just know the words and grammar but do not know how to use them. They would not make sentences and dialogues easily. That is why I want to solve this problem. In this project the activity-based English teaching would be used to improve students’creative it as well as this abilities of practicing and using English.. Meanwhile it can change students’ attitude of learning from passive to activate. 2. Problem Problem analysis 2.1 Problem Some of my students do not know how to learn English well including listening, speaking, reading and writing. They just received the basic points I taught in the English class. 2.2 Problem analysis Before I began to design the new teaching plan, I would like to find out the reasons why my students felt it difficult to learn and memorize the English words. In order to know more about this problem, I made a research as below: Questions: How do you memorize the English words? Answers: I just recite the words. Questions: When you memorize the words, would you pay attention to the phonetic symbols? Answers: No. Because I have no idea for them. Questions: Do you like learning English? Answers: Yes. But I do not like to learn if the teacher just teaches the text and words in the class without any interesting activities. It is very boring. Questions: What kind of teaching module do you like? Answers: The one we can do something by ourselves. Finally I found there is a serious problem among the students which they do not like simple teaching and learning when I finished my research. What interests students in English learning is their curiosity. The curiosity can not be energy and motivation of learning. 3. Project Object After my research, I designed a teaching plan called “Active English
