An Analysis of Phonetics Teaching in Primary Schools in Hantai District, Hanzhong city 汉中市汉台区小学语音教学现状探究 [摘 要]任何外语教学的目的都是培养学生的听、说、读、写四种基本能力,而这四种能力是在学习发音、词汇、语法这三个要素的基础上发展而来的。其中,发音是第一也是最重要的因素。目前,英语课程在全国大部分地区就开始教授,因而英语的地位举足轻重。但英语教学依旧是以考试为目的,以分数为评价标准,因此相对而言,学生的语用能力和交际能力被忽视。这也是导致所谓的“哑巴英语”的原因所在。所以在本文中,笔者以汉中市汉台区小学语音教学现状为研究目标,分析目前存在的主要问题并提出相应的解决方案,例如如何有效地开展语音教学以提高小学生的学习兴趣,为英语学习打下良好的基础。 [关键字]小学语音;语音教学;存在问题;解决方法 Abstract: Any effective foreign language course aims at developing the skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing. Each of these four skills is based on three main elements of language: pronunciation, vocabulary and grammar. Pronunciation is the first important category of the three. English is now the most popular learned foreign language in China. But generally speaking, English teaching in all levels of Chinese schools is still very test centered. The real ability of language usage or the communicative ability in language studies is comparatively neglected. That leads to a great dissatisfaction due to the obvious deficiency of Chinese students’ language ability. In this article, I shall analyze the current situation of phonetic teaching in primary schools in Hantai District, Hanzhong city, find out the existing problems of launching the course and provide some practical suggestions for teaching this course to motivate pupils’ interest to learn English and improve their effectiveness of study. Introduction When one begins to learn a foreign language, he will find the habits of his native tongue often interfere with his learning the sounds of the new language. Chinese students, especially pupils, often find it hard to pronounce some English sounds correctly. This may have lots of effects on their studies, such as reducing students’ interest and motivation to learn English, influencing their communication ability and so on.
