(1) Classical music is entirely traditional and formal. It is hard to follow. So it mainly catches the attention of educated people. (2) Light music is simple and pleasing to the ear. The melody is beautiful and easy to understand. Most people like it. (3) Dancing music is popular with dancing parties. It is lively and energetic and especially favored by young people. 2) The other category is pop music, which may include blues(布鲁斯), swing(摇摆乐), jazz(爵士乐), rock- and- roll(摇滚乐), country music(乡村音乐), and campus songs(校园歌曲) or civic ballad(民谣). (1) Jazz and rock “n” roll both originated from African Americans.
